This video walks through the different options I saw for cooling my Traxxas Rustlers electric motor. I am using thermal simulations in Fusion 360 and Autodesk s Flow Design to simulate the air flow. The basic options are to add a heat sink, increase forced convection or to improve the natural convection as you will see. I have parts on order so I will be able to test for any improvements soon!

In this video we use a ridiculous looking traxxas RC car to determine how big of an impact the wings can have. With low speed downforce, it requires high angles of attack and a high surface area to create enough force to drive the suspension down. The total amount of downforce on this car at 45mph is calculated to equal more than the car in perfect conditions, which realistically means we may be able to expect half of that. This is still half of the cars weight. In this video we look at 2 simulation technologies: Topology Optimization and Multielement Airfoils lite. For more details on these analysis types please see some of my other videos specifically covering these topics.

I built a self driving RC car and tested it as a tiny food delivery truck. It’s based on a Traxxas Slash and uses Pixhawk 4 hardware. The test includes both PX4 and Ardupilot firmware at different times. #Autonomous #Pixhawk #Rover

In this video I m experimenting with adding a cold gas thruster to an RC car to see if it can compete with the Tesla Roadster SpaceX edition. This system operates at a relatively high pressure so I don t recommend trying to replicate this unless you re knowledgeable in high pressure systems and can verify the gas pressure rating of the hardware you re using. I was happy to be able to add a cold gas thruster to the RC car, but can 2 small displsable CO2 cartridges provide enough thrust for a full 0-60 run?

This video shows my process for making 3D printed molds for complex rubber parts that have undercuts and varying wall thickness sections. It s similar to typical 3D molding but low pressure and uses liquid silicone rubber.

Top Fuel Dragsters have some insane aerodynamics, and in this video we will explore why. We will also apply these concepts to an RC Dragster I have been working on to see if they scale. We will add a lot of downforce to an RC Car, and we will see if it actually helps us drive in an RC Drag Race setup.

Using a 3D printer to make molds out of silicone rubber is a really easy process and great for complex shapes as well as minor undercuts. In this video I design the molds in Fusion 360 and then 3D print them. After that I use a food safe rubber from Smooth On to make the molds. #3DPrintedMolds #fusion360 Affiliate Links to materials used here: Food Grade Silicone Mold Material: https://amzn.to/3VLu5Vp Clamps: https://amzn.to/42tSC3O

This video details the design, build and test of the active aerodynamics I built for my Traxxas Rustler. It was to be used in conjunction with my speed run wheelie bar to keep the front end from lifting at higher speeds and heavy throttle. The wing is self stabilizing based on Gyro Feedback and a front mounted servo. #traxxas #aerodynamics

In this video I build a predator style shoulder mounted nerf blaster that uses artificial intelligence to track a face, person or other object in the TFlite model. It uses a pan tilt mechanism and wireless relay as well. The electronics are based on a raspberry pi with a Coral USB Edge TPU accelerator.

This video details the design, build and testing of my Remote Control Fan Car inspired by the #f1 Brabham BT46b and the Chaparral 2J. It s based on a #Traxxas slash with 2 EDF fans that would be used in RC Jet Airplanes. This is just the initial testing needed before I move into a much higher power setup intended to use this downforce for a low 0 - 60 time. #STEM

I designed and built a sherp style skid steering robot chassis and torture tested it to make sure it could live up to my standards. It s largely based on Traxxas electronics, but most of the mechanical components are custom designed/selected.

Tesla Roadsters and the Tesla Plaid model are have amazingly fast 0 to 60 times, but I ve built an RC electric Fan Car that I think can actually beat the real deal. In this video we will race the Gordon Murray Inspired Fan Car against the Tesla to see if a toy can be a Tesla.
