Open me for all the deets + Article links friends ✨. Everyone has their own sense of style and in the six years I’ve lived here when this office was an actual office…I have NEVER used it. Instead of conforming to what a traditional office is, I started to think about what really would work for me, what I need out of my office and what would make my life easier so that means I moved the office into Paul s office and made my dream lounge/workspace! This is what I came up with and I am totally in love. None of the links below are affiliate! A R T I C L E G O O D N E S S . . . Not having everything in one place is inconvenient. Especially when you have a pet! It seems like one toy is upstairs one is in one of your shoes and then their foods is sprinkled throughout the house. If all of us humans in my household have somewhere to put their things, why can’t my bulldog have the same with a touch of DIY? Today I’m showing you how I organized where my puppy eats, plays and hangs for most the day. My baby girl (Cali) is an English bulldog which requires a ton of attention to detail - from wiping her face and wrinkles everyday, to ensuring her eye boogers don’t take over her face, to being able to have access to a lint roller REAL quick on my way out - I decided to make it so no one ever has a problem with finding anything for the derg. I will be showing you a mini transformation to an area in my kitchen. It includes a DIY shelf, chalkboard wall, some tips of what helped me when organizing for my pup and a whole lot of cuteness sprinkled throughout. Let me know if you like this DIY pet series! Thanks for all the continuous love and support, stay rad you guys. Have a great Wednesday! I’ll be seeing you soon xx. Thank you to Goal Zero seriously - this tiny trailer home wouldn t be possible without the power. Excited to be thinking smarter and having portable power systems that can go with me anywhere, anytime to power all my devices, power tools and batteries. Goal Zero Yeti 6000X (YETI6000X + (2) BOULDER200 BRIEFCASE SOLAR GENERATOR): https://www.goalzero.com/collections/all-products/products/goal-zero-yeti-6000x-2-boulder-200-briefcases-solar-kit Yeti Tank Expansion Battery (2400WH YETI EXPANSION SYSTEM): https://www.goalzero.com/products/2-4-kwh-yeti-expansion-kit?_pos=3&_sid=42550a383&_ss=r Power Port 30 FT Extension Cable: https://www.goalzero.com/products/high-power-port-30ft-extension-cable?_pos=1&_sid=578c29fa3&_ss=r Finally we are pass the bones of my trailer renovation and into the skin, the details, the beauty. None of that can be enjoyed if I do not have enough power to use the appliances, TV... etc. No fear, Goal Zero and their portable power stations are here! I did not see the point of investing the high quotes I received for permanent electrical when the guest house will not be used all that often. I decided to start this kitchen renovation by prepping for the power we ll need by building custom cabinets for the first time. These DIY cabinets hold the power that will power the appliances that live between them. I don’t share a lot of behind the scenes to Paul and I’s life but anything that we can install into our house that makes our home “smarter” is a plus for us and we love it. More details on tips and tricks below - open me! If I was throwing a Friendsgiving, I rather spend money on food and booze! So that is exactly why I sharing a DIY Thanksgiving table decor idea that is simple yet sassy. I love that Home Goods didn’t have more than one of the glasses that I wanted so I still bought them then mixed them all together and it worked out perfectly in my opinion. Please don’t forget! I love seeing what you guys create so be sure to hashtag #livingtodiy or slide into my DM’s https://www.instagram.com/rachel_metz/ and share them with me! Stay rad xx. The three necessities (in my opinion) for a successful table setting: ►Lighting - you already know it’s either natural lighting, candles or fairy lights that make all our Instagram’s pop right? Same with a dinner date. I love adding a ton of candles for that romance and perfect not so intruding lighting. ►Glassware - dishes, decorative plates and silverware are something I don’t like spending money on and quite frankly unless it’s a legit sit down formal meal, I don’t think my humans are concerned with what color of the plate they are eating off of. Something that I know I appreciate is a beautiful glass for my water or cocktail because I spend more time with one of those in my hand than the food lasts on my plate. I first went to Goodwill and sourced those water glasses for $1 each. I got everything else at Home Goods and even tried to negotiate down since I couldn’t find any matching glasses. ►Florals - I always tell people if you throw any sort of get together, florals and greens make all the difference so invest some money into it. Plus you get to keep them after and have a little souvenir from the party you hosted which always makes you smile. I head to Trader Joe’s and search through their seasonal bouquets. I take a second to dig through because honestly, the cute ones are always hidden. At least the seasonal, more expensive ones. Definitely want to try my local flower mart and compare pricing!
