They ve been recognised as a breed by the United Kennel Club since 1997. The Klee Kai breed was created by an American lady called Linda Spurlin. She looked to recreate the appearance of her adopted undersized husky called Curious. The result was the Klee Kai. We allow Copper and Skye to share our bed at the weekends and they absolutely love it. We used to allow them to sleep in our bed every day but as you can probably tell by some of these positions, they re not great for the hips! When they re allowed in our bed, it always fascinates us what positions they decide to adopt. Skye loves contact with us, so she usually goes for between our legs, behind our legs, under the covers. Copper doesn t usually like to be held as he s quick to overheat. So he usually opts for a position on the bed a little away from us. With all this in mind, I decided to do some research on the different dog sleeping positions and what they mean. Do some dog sleeping positions mean our dogs are more bonded to us? What dog sleeping positions means your dog feels safe? What does sleeping positions are the comfiest for the dog? I lot of my friends expect Copper and Skye to be much bigger than they are in person, purely based on their Instagram photos. Skye and Copper are toy Alaskan Klee Kai so they re the smallest variety of Klee Kai. They re extremely small! Copper is slightly smaller than his big sister Skye, even though he looks chunkier than her in our eyes. Just before we got Skye in September 2017, I started to suffer with anxiety and panic attacks. It gradually became more severe as 2017 ended and 2018 began. By the time we picked up Copper in March 2018, I was having panic attacks almost daily with my anxiety off the charts. However, with counseling, find a better work-life balance, and getting out more with Copper and Skye, I m now in a healthier place where I m able to switch off and spend quality time with my Klee Kai rather than be consumed by work and anxious thoughts. I wanted to share my experience to help anyone else who has gone through, or is going through, a similar thing. I found it very comforting to know that I wasn t alone or the only one experiencing anxiety. Naturally since moving to the UK from the USA with Copper and Skye, we get a lot of questions from people in London, England and the UK about where we got our two Klee Kai.
