In the second round of the 2023 Wyndham Championship, Billy Horschel shot a career low round of 62 and is in solo second heading into the weekend. SUBSCRIBE to PGA TOUR now: http://pgat.us/vBxcZSh The 2022-23 PGA TOUR regular season concludes at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, for the Wyndham Championship. A lot is on the line this week as only the top 70 in the FedExCup Standings will qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs. Perhaps the biggest story of the week is Justin Thomas, currently 79th in the standings, who needs a big week to avoid missing the playoffs for the first time in his career. K.H. Lee will also be looking to break into a playoff spot this week. He’s struggled on TOUR as of late, but still has four top-10 finishes and seven top-30 finishes in the season so far to keep him in playoff contention. Si Woo Kim will also be teeing it up in North Carolina. He’s finished 5th, T3 and 2nd in the past at Sedgefield. Anchored by a fourth-place finish at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday in June and a T2 at the AT&T Byron Nelson in May, Kim will be looking for a win. J.T. Poston will also be in North Carolina this week. Since the John Deere Classic, he’s had four straight top-10 finishes with two T-6 finishes and a T2. He was also victorious here in 2019 as he scored a bogey-free 22-under-par for the tournament. Others to look out for are Hideki Matsuyama, Shane Lowry and Adam Scott, as well as both Ryder Cup captains – Luke Donald and Zach Johnson. SUBSCRIBE to PGA TOUR now: http://pgat.us/vBxcZSh Just one week away from The Open Championship, the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour go across the pond to Scotland this week for the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club. Nearing the end of the season, the TOUR has four co-sanctioned events with the DP World Tour over the coming weeks. The field is full of the very best with Jon Rahm being the only top-10 player in the world electing to sit out before the year’s final major. World No.1 Scottie Scheffler is among those top players in the field this week. He’ll feel confident in his chances after finishing in the top 5 in his last three starts and in the top 12 in his last 18 starts. Wins at the WM Phoenix Open and THE PLAYERS Championship, coupled with top-10 finishes in the first three majors of the year, will mean he’ll look to be in the running come Sunday. Defending champion Xander Schauffele returns this week. He’s gathered momentum recently with 10 straight top-25 finishes and the all-time lowest round at a major in last month’s U.S. Open. An in-form Rory McIlroy will also be teeing it up this week having claimed five top-10 finishes in a row, including his runner-up finish at the U.S. Open. Tommy Fleetwood, Patrick Cantlay, Viktor Hovland and Rickie Fowler will also like their chances in Scotland.
