Having conquered Britain s biggest mixed grill some years ago in the north east, I thought it unthinkable that anything bigger would come along. How wrong I was. In early May, The Black Market Venue in Mansfield launched their own giant mixed grill challenge. Up until now, a handful of brave souls have tried, but none have come close. So after last week s surprise defeat, I wanted to get back on my horse and reclaim some honour! The meal costs £30 and contains sausages, bacon, black pudding, rump steak, pork loin, lamb chop, grilled chicken breast, liver, gammon, eggs, a half pound burger, giant onion rings, tomatoes, red onions, lettuce, radish, cucumber, carrots, mushrooms, pineapple, peas, coleslaw, a mountain of chips and one giant pork rind.
