Ok, it s not funny. Slime Sam has lost his and Sue s keys. Again! It turned out that mischievous slime was invited to audition for a TV series about slimes. He needed to come up with a new look and started trying on different outfits and accessories... He was running back and forth and first lost his keys, then borrowed Sue s and lost them too. What are you going to do with him? Well, Sue decided to make fun keychains for them both so Sam can always tell their keys apart and NEVER EVER lose her keys again. She ll be making shrinky dinks and using them as keychains. Sue has two sheets of pre-printed shrinking plastic film. One has pictures of dinosaurs and these ones will be for her because she loves those creatures! The second one has images of cute monsters and will make a great keychain for Sam because... well, let s face it, he is a cute little monster;) EASY TUTORIAL FOR SHRINK CHARMS 1. Cut out the pictures along the outlines neatly. 2. Color them any way you like! Get creative, make patterns and mix colors, the more bright and colorful the better! 3. Cover a baking pan with waxed baking paper and line up your colored pictures so they don t touch. 4. Bake the images at 200°C (≈400°F) until they shrink. 5. Take the pan out and leave them to cool. After shrinking charms become brighter! 6. Attach key rings and chains to the shrunk charms and enjoy your unique and oh, so pretty keychains! After the entertaining but tiring process of preparing for the audition and then making charms Sam needed a little bit of quite time. He got his favorite book Alice in Wonderland and got to reading. Before he knew it he fell asleep... He was running around the house and suddenly he stumbled upon a very cute white rabbit with incredible blue eyes. The bunny rabbit didn t say anything but Sam was determined to make friends with him and started observing and then chasing the poor creature around. Rabbits are pretty fast so Sam couldn t catch up. But then he came across a table served very nicely for a tea party. Mad tea party? Beautiful glittery teacups, rare sweets... and the bunny drinking tea! Sam barely enjoyed his tea and then he woke up. So was it all just a dream? Who knows... Anyway, Sam woke up and found Sue looking at a bunch of tubes with glitter. She told the curious slime that she was going to decorate their plain white mags with glitter. Obviously, Sam couldn t pass on the opportunity to present one of his ideas and they ended up making a very cool gradient glitter pattern! These beautifully decorated mugs are a great handcraft idea for a DIY gift or you can keep them for yourself and host mad tea parties! Here is a really simple instruction for decorating mugs with glitter: 1. Stick a strip of tape in the middle so it circles the mug (don t forget the handle!). We only want the glitter on the bottom half because tea with glitter just won t taste that great (Sam tried, trust him). 2. Spread mod podge or white school glue over the surface of the mug below the sticky tape. 3. Don t let the glue dry and start sprinkling the mug with glitter. To make the gradient effect you should start with the darkest shade. Sprinkle all around the mug making a glitter strip that s about one inch wide. 4. Take the lightest and the darkest shades and mix them together. That will be your middle color. 5. Sprinkle this middle color around the cup creating a glitter strip about one inch wide. 6. Finish up with the lightest shade of glitter. 7. Brush off the excess glitter from the mug. 8. Cover the whole glitter part of the mug with another layer of glue and leave it to dry. Done! You got yourself fantastic glitter mugs that are worthy of the Queen s tea party! REALLY RANDOM FUN FACTS - Cats can t eat chocolate! It contains something that s called theobromine and can cause your cat serious health problems. - The science that studies dinosaurs is called paleontology and the scientists are called paleontologists. To be exact, they don t study dinosaurs because those are extinct, they study dinosaur fossils and bones.
