Manila Plot (2001): In 1995, Manila authorities uncovered a detailed plan by Arab extremists in the Philippines to assassinate the Pope and use aircraft as flying bombs aimed at American targets. As the FBI reopen these files, we question whether the 1995 plot was a blueprint for the events of September 11 and, if so, why it was tragically ignored. Police uncovered the plot when one of the men accidentally set fire to his apartment while preparing the bombs.
