Tennis Forehand Transformation - How I Changed My Forehand Technique Sometimes what seems like a small technical change can have a huge impact on a tennis stroke. Download our free forehand guide here - https://www.top-tennis-training.com/forehand-guide/ In this video, Coach Simon Konov of Top Tennis Training will show you how he changed his tennis forehand technique. Using only one slight adjustment with his forehand, Simon was able to create a massive change with his forehand power, depth and the heaviness of the stroke. Open Stance vs Neutral Stance Forehand When the goal with your forehand is to generate heavy topspin, the open stance is the best option so you can drive upwards as you make contact. By loading up with the open stance, you can create a low to high swing path using the ground force. This is the ideal path for creating heavy topspin but not so good for generating a heavier, more powerful forehand. The neutral stance allows you to step into the shot, transferring your body weight into the forehand. Coach Simon has been competing on the ITF masters tour and noticed in his matches, he was using mainly the open stance on the majority of his forehands. Simon decided to work hard on using the neutral stance more often.
