This the speech attributed to Alexander by the historian Arrian (92-175 AD), said to have been sent to the defeated Darius, King of Persia after the battle of Guagamela in 331 BC. Though he wrote his account The Anabasis , several hundred years after Alexander s time, his account of the Macedonian ruler turned King of the World is thought to be one of the more accurate.
