Fragrance Free Skincare Routine / Best Products - COSRX, KRAVE, NEOGEN, MISSHA James Welsh

So we all know fragrance isn’t something I go out of my way to avoid. It’s also not something I go out of my way to find! I think a lot of you think I love fragrance in my skincare but actually….maybe 10% of what I own / actually use contains fragrance. The real problem with fragrance, unlike which hazel, is that…there is no benefit. It s not gonna clear your skin, it s not gonna clear spots or fine lines. There is no reason other than it making the product smell good. The real issue here is when it comes to the labelling on fragrance in skincare. As we know, on skincare, most ingredients needs to be listed individually, however this isn’t the case when it comes to fragrance. under US law, fragrance can simply and suspiciously only be listed as fragrance. So all fragrances within that one product can be grouped simply under the one word ‘fragrance’. And that’s because, according to the FDA, The law is not allowed to force a brand to reveal its ‘trade secrets’ or secret ingredients and recipes. And fragrance falls under trade secrets as they tend to be “complex mixtures” of natural and synthetic ingredients. Think KFC’s secret recipe ;) Finally, a bit of de-coding when it comes to the terms fragrance free and you may also see the term unscented on a lot of skincare.
