SECRET ABANDONED CENOTE & RESORT | XPU HA BEACH RIVIERA MAYA MEXICO
Along the coast of Riviera Maya in Mexico, there are hundreds of resorts. Xpu ha beach club (or Xpu-Há) is a very popular "off the beaten path" spot for tourists to go to get away from the craziness of Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum... because of this, the place has become a bit of a tourist trap itself. In 2005, Hurricane Wilma, a category 5 monster destroyed much of Caribbean coast. 12 years later, you can still see the remains of resorts that were not rebuilt. Xpu-Ha Palace was one of those places. Some interesting features of this particular Riviera Maya resort was it s natural coral lagoon, which connected underground to a beautiful cenote which sat in the middle of the resort. This made it easily one of the most beautiful places to stay in Mexico, especially on this coast. Now, there is a surprising amount of it still standing.
