When you come to the net, you do two main things to your opponent: 1. Take away their time on the ball 2. Reduce the amount of court they can hit into SImply by rushing the net, you may win plenty of points just from the pressure you re applying to the opponent. You may not even have to hit a volley. There are five main ways to approach the net: 1. Serve and volley 2. Chip and charge 3. Attack the weaker serve 4. Approach off the short ball 5. Ghost approach Where To Approach? When approaching the net, aim to hit around 80% of your approach shots down the line. This ensures you re on the right half of the court to cover the down the line pass. If you approach crosscourt, make sure you re fast enough to get to the other half to cover your line.
