Ever wondered what s happening behind the scenes of making a YouTube video for my channel? Here s a sneak peek - conveniently combined with practicing for next week s recital of complete Chopin Nocturnes at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris October 15 http://www.theatrechampselysees.fr/saison/recital/recital-instruments-musique-de-chambre/valentina-lisitsa Ah, you are asking "What s this stunning looking piano?" Well, well. The location is Bösendorfer factory in Vienna suburbs, the piano is one-of-a-kind 7 foot grand called Grand Bohemian. https://www.boesendorfer.com/en/pianos/collectors-item/grand-bohemian I think there were only 9 ever made. As you have probably guessed, there will be a *proper* video coming up shortly. But I thought it would be fun to see the preparation going on - placing the cameras, finding good angles and sound.... Oh wait! Sound. Of course. The sound is far more important than *looks*. And here I must admit - this is NOT the microphone we usually use. By a margin of something like 5-10000 dollars difference 😉 As you can see on the video, the microphone is $5 purchase from a pawn shop and attached to an impromptu mic stand by a....duct tape!!!! If a five dollar microphone sounds like this with Bösendorfer, you ve gotta believe - it s one AMAZING piano. More coming up soon. Stay tuned.
