This documentary explores how the Karen people have been persecuted and oppressed by the Burmese state in the course of the world s longest running civil war stretching back to 1949, and Thoo Mweh Khee s staff and students demonstrate how the extraordinary spirit of the Karen people has been able to endure in the face of genocidal violence.
