Rainbow Mountain in Peru is a tough hike at over 4000m, and also the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park in China. There is something a little bit similar, and my first day in the Philippines lead me to this strange place. In this travel Philippines vlog, we head 12h north of Manila to Sagada. Home of the hanging coffins, Marlboro Country and Blue Soil Hills. If you re a fan of beautiful nature, adventure, or seeing strange places, the blue soil hills and Marlboro County sunrise hike are epic. Most people head to Kiltepan for sunrise. Don t do that. Instead book this hike. I was one of only a few people there. Sunrise at Kiltepan is PACKED. After seeing this amazing show, you hike another 2 hours to Blue Soil Hills. Erosion has revealed a section of crumbling blue stone in the forest. Copper is responsible for this phenomenon. The copper in the soil reacts with the air and develops a patina. The fancy word for the green/blue coating you see on copper pennies or church roofs. This gives the soil a very unique appearance! You need to visit this place!
