I usually eat a few bowl of kuay teow reua sen lek nam tok (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือเส้นเล็กหมูน้ำตก), Thai boat noodles with the medium sized rice noodles - that’s my favorite boat noodle noodle. Another thing they serve at the restaurant is khanom thuay (ขนมถ้วย), which is a bowl snack dessert made with coconut. It’s quite good if you enjoy Thai desserts and sweets. 7:33 Koh Kret (เกาะเกร็ด) - Open and busiest on the weekends, Koh Kret (เกาะเกร็ด) is an island in the middle of the Chao Phraya River just on the outside of Bangkok located in Nonthaburi at Pak Kret. From Bangkok’s Victory Monument, we jumped onto a bus and we rode all the way to Pak Kret, and then from there we jumped on the back of a motorbike to save time, and then onwards to a quick ferry ride across the river and to Koh Kret (เกาะเกร็ด). Koh Kret (เกาะเกร็ด) is a little bit on the Thai touristy side, it’s kind of like a floating market, but instead of boats and floatings, it’s an island market. It’s a good place to just walk around and explore especially on the weekends when you’re in Bangkok. Again, just like Bang Krachao, even though you’re so close to Bangkok, you feel far removed. 13:18 Soei (ร้านเส่ย) Restaurant - One of my favorite restaurants in all of Bangkok and one of the best restaurants in Bangkok is Soei (ร้านเส่ย), located along the railroad track at Samsen station. I’ve been eating at Soei (ร้านเส่ย) and every time I go, I just can’t get over how delicious the Thai food is. If you love spicy and flavorful Thai food, this is a must eat at restaurant. One of the dishes that very famous at Soei is kaem pla too tod (แก้มปลาทูทอด), which are mackerel cheeks that are deep fried with garlic and served like crispy fish head chips. Another dish I ordered this meal at Soei was gaeng ba pla (แกงป่าปลา), Thai jungle curry with fish. He makes one of the best versions in Bangkok - it’s spicy, pungently flavorful, and packed with herbs and spices. But the ultimate dish to eat at Soei is boo neem pad pongari (ปูนิ่มผัดผงกะหรี่), soft shell crab in a Thai yellow egg curry, it’s EPIC, there’s no other way to put it. The soft shell crab was tender and the curry was outrageously delicious, with a great flavor of yellow curry powder, and the egg making things ever richer and more flavorful. Finally another dish that I have to order every-time I eat at Soei is yam kai dao (ยำไข่ดาว), Thai fried egg salad, and it’s made perfectly here. The egg is crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. It’s just insanely delicious. Soei (ร้านเส่ย) is easily one of my favorite restaurants in all of Bangkok. It was pretty interesting, and along with the fights, the dancing rituals that go along with Muay Thai are also very interesting to see. ============================================ This food video was made by Mark Wiens and Ying Wiens - check out our blogs: Migrationology.com: http://migrationology.com/ EatingThaiFood.com: http://eatingthaifood.com/ TravelByYing.com: http://travelbyying.com/ Instagram: https://instagram.com/migrationology Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/migrationology ►Camera I use: http://migrationology.com/travel-resources/ ►T-shirts: https://migrationology.com/store/ ►Make a Donation: https://migrationology.com/donate/ ►Download Your Free Bangkok eBook: http://migrationology.com/2weeksinbangkok/ (it includes all the information, addresses, a map, and prices of everything we did and ate in this entire 2 Weeks In Bangkok video series).
