John Prine Reflects On Early Songs, Meeting Bob Dylan & More With Sturgill Simpson
In 2016, the Recording Academy presented an intimate event at the GRAMMY Museum with the late GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter John Prine in conversation with fellow GRAMMY winner Sturgill Simpson and music writer Paul Zollo. Prine talked about playing his earliest material, now-legendary songs like "Sam Stone," for audiences who didn't quite know what to make of him. He also reflected on his first week in New York, spent with his iconic contemporaries like Kris Kristofferson, Steve Goodman and, of course, Bob Dylan, all of whom became big fans and supporters of Prine's unique songwriting talents.
