"We want a sovereign Pakistan. We do not want a president to be a poodle of George Bush", said Khan. But critics argued his position was unoriginal. "Who isn t trying to be anti Musharraf in this country?. It isn t novel", said news editor Najam Sethi. “There’s a fear America is about to destroy our way of life”, Khan states. “There is a radicalism going on in reaction to what is happening.” Another criticism levelled against Khan in the early days of his political career was that he had autocratic leanings: People in his own party who worked with him and then left say he s autocratic, he doesn t listen and he has a clique of people around him who are chums and buddies , says Sethi.
