I ve needed a basecamp for a long time now, I finally found this awesome spot that I can camp at, practice bushcraft, and have fun. I snowshoe through the woods to find a suitable location for the fort. First task is to dig through the deep snow until I get close to the ground. Than I need to remove all the branches and trees in the way. I make a bushcraft bed, and cook up some lunch, all while contemplating my favorite way to build the fort. I string up a tarp for protection from a heavy snowfall, but ultimately decide I do not want to leave the tarp there permanently. Next time at the fort I will be winter camping.
