I left the small town of Kusatsu, Japan without knowing where I would end up later that day. I decided to book a train journey going to Fukushima in northern Japan. It cost $112 for three trains, two of which were super fast bullet trains. The third train covered a distance of 258 kilometers or 160 miles in just 65 minutes, including making two stops.
