Crucible Barbecue Eating Challenge w/ Ribs, Brisket, & BBQ Sandwiches!!

A&Z #1003 - Randy Santel vs the "Crucible" Barbecue Eating Challenge w/ Ribs, Smoked Brisket, & BBQ Sandwiches hosted by Otts BBQ in Burns, Tennessee. After leaving Memphis, TN as part of my Midwest USA Food Challenge Tour, I stopped at Otts BBQ in Burns, Tennessee just west of Nashville, TN. I was the first person to attempt and help kick off the brand new Otts BBQ "Crucible" Barbecue Eating Challenge which featured lots of delicious food items from their menu. Wesley and Victoria are the owners, and Wesley is a retired Marine, which is where the "Crucible" Challenge gets the name from. I had 1 hour to finish. There were 2 signature BBQ sandwiches, the "Loaded" and the "Mess," each loaded with smoked meats and toppings. There was a full rack of St Louis style pork BBQ ribs plus large portions of juicy chicken breast, smoked beef brisket, and smoked sausage. It all came with 5 sides of my choice, and I ordered macaroni & cheese, green beans, coleslaw, potato salad, and baked beans. I was trying to become the first champion to win my $90 meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on the Otts BBQ Wall of Fame. The Crucible is a test every recruit must go through to become a Marine. It tests every recruit physically, mentally, and morally, and is the defining experience of recruit training. The Crucible takes place over 54-hours and includes food and sleep deprivation and over 45 miles of marching. Thank you to everyone who has served for your military services!! - There are 2 signature BBQ sandwiches featured, the "Loaded" and "Mess," each weighing ~1lb. - There is a full rack of BBQ pork ribs plus chicken breast, sausage, and smoked beef brisket. - You get to order 5 different tasty side items as part of this challenge. I ordered macaroni and cheese, baked beans, green beans, potato salad, and creamy coleslaw. - There is a 1 hour time limit for this challenge.
