F1’s five biggest fails

Formula 1 has, at many times in its history, made absolute mountains out of what really should have been molehills. While F1 manages to do many great things, some incredible machines, drivers and races from many decades, when something goes wrong with a race, it tends to go catastrophically wrong. This isn’t times when the teams or drivers have messed up, but when Formula 1 itself trips over its own shoelaces on something it probably should have been prepared for, in the last couple of decades.
