Remember Sol, the closest star to Earth? We like to call it The Sun and we haven t talked about it in a little while. One interesting thing about the energy we get from the sun is that it s not absorbed the same way by different materials. In fact, even at the beach, you can do a nice little investigation that shows this very well. In this episode of Crash Course Kids, Sabrina chats about how the properties of land and water differ enough for absorption and reflection. This first series is based on 5th-grade science. We re super excited and hope you enjoy Crash Course Kids! ///Standards Used in This Video/// 5-ESS1-2. Represent data in graphical displays to reveal patterns of daily changes in length and direction of shadows, day and night, and the seasonal appearance of some stars in the night sky.
