http://www.top-tennis-training.com/ Tennis Footwork - Top 3 Mistakes and How To Correct Them. Top Tennis Training coach Simon Konov (LTA Senior Performance Coach) breaks down the top three most common errors that tennis players around the entire world are making but more importantly how to correct them. Common Errors and Solutions: 1. Players not using a good or correct split step whe the opponent makes contact with the ball. A good split step will help you to be balanced so you can move into any direction, will send a signal to your body to get ready to move and will give you an explosive push off when you start moving. 2. Using side shuffle steps to recover, this takes longer and wastes more energy than using the cross-over or cross behind step. The cross-over and cross-behind step allow for the maximum amount of distance to be covered while still facing the opponent. 3. Recovering to the wrong position on the court, mainly back into the centre. Coaches teach players to recover back into the centre when players are just starting out the game but as you progress, you need to be aware of and master the different recovery zones on the tennis court.
