The 2016 Acura ILX is an entry-level luxury sedan with an innovative transmission, great fuel economy, and a solid audio system. Under the hood is a 2.4L inline four cylinder engine with i-VTEC producing 201 horsepower at 6800 RPM and 180 lb-ft of torque at 3800 RPM. One of the ways they were able to increase low end torque was by using a dual-stage intake manifold. There’s a set of four butterfly valves which are used to actuate the process. At low RPM, the air travels through a long set of runners, improving low end torque. At higher RPM, the system switches over to a short set of intake runners for increased high end power. This works in combination with the VTEC system, where at engine speeds above 4900 RPM the intake system shifts to a high lift, long-duration cam profile for more top end power. Engine torque is sent through an 8-speed dual clutch transmission to the front wheels. Plenty of convenience and luxury features as well: - Navigation - Adaptive Cruise Control - Collision Mitigation Braking System - Dual zone climate control - Lane Keep Assist - 10 Speaker ELS Sound System - Rear View Camera MSRP As Tested: $35,810 Related Videos Dual Clutch Transmission - https://youtu.be/oOciX6kdexE DSG - https://youtu.be/mj1Vk7SE-TI Torque Converter - https://youtu.be/QIobzoSGhy4 Please feel free to rate, comment, and subscribe!
