Davy Byrnes Giant 3kg Irish Fish and Chips Challenge in Dublin, Ireland!!

A&Z #1086 - Professional eater Randy Santel versus Davy Byrnes Giant 3kg Irish Fish and Chips Challenge hosted by Davy Byrnes in City Centre of Dublin, Ireland!! After finishing up our 6-state Midwest USA Tour, @KatinaEatsKilos and I flew across the pond to Dublin, Ireland so we could spend 40+ days exploring most of the major cities and areas around Ireland. During our travels, I attempted 16 Irish man vs food restaurant challenges. For eating challenge event #12, we headed to Davy Byrnes located in City Centre of Dublin, Ireland so we could both attempt and help kick off Davy Byrnes new Giant 3kg Irish Fish and Chips Challenge. Davy Byrnes was made famous in the book Ulysses by James Joyce and this epic food challenge is themed around that while focusing on the fresh Irish fish and chips and Davy Byrnes is known for. There was a giant 1.5kg piece of locally sourced Irish cod fish battered and fried, served over 1lb of chips with a portion of mushy peas and 10 fried gorgonzola cheese bites topped with pear infused with red burgundy wine. The challenge included a glass of burgundy wine and there was a 1 hour time limit to finish everything. I went first and was trying to become the first champion to win my €75 Irish fish n chips meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on Davy Brynes Wall of Fame!! Dublin, Ireland (€75): - Davy Byrnes has been located in Dublin city centre for over 100 years now which is awesome!! - My father & son friends Billy and Graham took ownership of Davy Byrnes just a few years ago. - Davy Byrnes was made famous in the 100+ year old book Ulysses by James Joyce. - Davy Byrnes is known for their fresh seafood & fish and chips, so they created a challenge. - There is a 1.5kg piece of cod that is battered and fried, served with over 1lb of fried chips. - The challenge includes a portion of mushy peas plus 10 of their specialty gorgonzola cheese bites topped with pear that has been infused with red burgundy wine. - There is a 1 hour time limit to finish everything, including a glass of red burgundy wine (the Guinness was optional). - Winners receive the €75 fish and chips meal free plus a sweet t-shirt and spot on Wall of Fame!!
