I made a lightweight concrete table by using self-leveling concrete mix typically used for floor resurfacing to apply a 1/4" coat of concrete over a solid core masonite door. I used mesh FIBA tape and concrete bonding adhesive to create a strong bond between the concrete and the door. The concrete added about 45 lbs to the weight of the table and me and my sister jessie have had no trouble picking up the table and moving it. This is an easy DIY friendly alternative to GFRC concrete mixes and doesn t require trowel skills the way poured in place concrete countertops do. I am really liking the combination of Ryobi Tools and Kreg Accessories to turn basic materials into nice DIY furniture projects.
