Giant Snakes, Big Snakes, Huge snakes, whatever you want to call them, are big snakes dangerous? Well yes and no, but mostly no. Giant snakes have the ability to kill large prey because that is what they eat to survive. This incredible strength can translate into danger of course but most danger to humans is avoidable. Big snakes are no more dangerous to you than a large dog. Burmese pythons are probably the most common massive snake species and for great reason. Burms are amazing animals that get huge but not as large as an anaconda or a reticulated python most times. Plus there are dwarf Burmese pythons available too. If you re looking for a tame snake that seems to almost enjoy handling and will eat for you every time but you want that snake in a huge package, consider a burmese python. Maybe you want a reptile that gets even BIGGER!? Reticulated pythons are recorded to be the longest species of snake on earth and they get big around too! Reticulated pythons can sometimes be 300lbs or even larger in extreme cases! If you want a massive, absolutely colossal snake that is super smart and has a great food drive, you may want to consider a reticulated python! Other great options might be scrub pythons if you want something a bit skinnier but still a huge snake and these are also arboreal or at least semi arboreal snake. Or if you re really into big snakes that are less common maybe an African Rock Python, and Indian Python or a Yellow Anaconda or of course the heaviest snake in the world, the Green Anaconda. Overall giant snakes can be dangerous but so can big dogs and if you treat these big snakes with respect and have someone in the room with you, for sure you can safely keep massive snakes and they will not be a danger to you!
