His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji has studied the distinctive features and characteristics of each day of the month as per numerology and astrology. He has selected sub-species of parrots by their color, size, and attributes to represent each of the 31 days. It allows the visitor to the Shuka Vana at Datta Peetham, Mysore, India to visit and greet the parrot that symbolizes his or her birth date. The collection of parrots at Shuka Vana may vary with time as per circumstance and the availability of specific species of parrots, at the discretion of Sri Swamiji.
