On top of this political upheaval, just 11 days after the Taliban took Afghanistan s capital, Islamic State launched the first of several attacks in the country. These attacks have killed hundreds of civilians, and shattered any hope of a lasting peace or stability in Afghanistan. Now, Norwegian Paul Refsdal reports, the Taliban is waging their own War on Terror in the Eastern province of Nangarhar - the birthplace of the Afghan branch of the Islamic State. Here, the violence rarely grabs international headlines, but confrontations between the Taliban security forces and the Islamic State are a nearly daily occurrence.
