Mexico City is full of abandoned places. I keep on finding cooler and creepier buildings to explore. It s urbex heaven here. This time I was told about an abandoned shopping mall called "The Acropolis" in Lomas Verdes, an area in the the western part of CDMX. It was a beautiful and creepy adventure. The shopping mall had been abandoned for 20 years, and was beginning to fall into ruins. There are a few place that make this shopping centre different than most malls. First, it was a Middle-Eastern Bazaar style market. There were thousands of shops inside, each one only taking up a few square meters. Second, in the middle of the entire building, the roof opened up into a giant star. At noon it would cast a giant shape in the very middle of the mall. It s an incredible thing to see. They modelled the building off the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Giant carved stone pillars, the triangular archways, and the fact it was perched overlooking the rest of the surrounding city. There are a few rumours as to why they abandoned the building. Some conspiracy theories say it was built as a giant money laundering scheme, others suggest that it s strange style didn t catch on. Also, around the same time, a larger mall opened up nearby called Centro Comercial Satelite. This probably didn t help either. I jumped on this urban exploration with some friends in Mexico City. It was barely boarded up, which made exploring easy. We arrived early in the morning, and didn t see anyone until much later when we were caught by the police. Which... turned out to be not as bad as I thought... We were lucky. Also, to you guys who kick seriously ass and read this far. I put one frame of the new KtG logo in the video. Message in the comments what second you saw it and I ll send you a surprise. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ϟ My Camera Gear ϟ Main Camera: http://geni.us/MyCamera My Favourite Lens: http://geni.us/Sony1635mm My 2nd Favourite Lens: http://geni.us/Sony90mm Low Light/Portrait Lens: http://geni.us/Sony55mm Love this Microphone: http://geni.us/RODEMic My SD Cards: http://geni.us/SanDiskPRO Camera Clips: http://geni.us/PDClip Cool Gadget to switch Lenses: http://geni.us/PDLensKit My Camera Strap: http://geni.us/PDStrap Keeping Safe on Rainy Days: http://geni.us/PDRainShell Great Tripod with a Funny Name: http://geni.us/Tripod This new Gimbal I love: http://geni.us/NewGimbal My Flying Camera: http://geni.us/DJI4K ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♥ Friends ♥ INSTA: www.instagram.com/soyeberlanda YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvNovl15nmwV34XkR16XsFw Alberto Ancona INSTA: www.instagram/elDronista YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/c/dronismo Alan INSTA: www.instagram/alandodomiguez ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ♫ Music ♫ “Quiet Melody" - VoodooAudio "Getting Tipsy 2" - Martin Landh Music from Epidemic Sound (http://www.epidemicsound.com) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ☎ Say Hi Here ☎ ✧ Snapchat: kickthegrind ✧ Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/kickthegrind ✧ Tweetz: http://www.twitter.com/KickTheGrind ✧ Facebook Fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/KicktheGrindTV ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ✯ Experiences over Possessions ✯ Kick the Grind ✯ -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
