He starred in the Netflix documentary The Short Game and he’s ranked as one of the best young golfers in the world. 10-year-old Zama Nxasana is here to share his five most important tips to becoming a great golfer. Transcript My name is Zama Nxasana and I am 10 years old. I am from South Africa. I am ranked number eight in the world. My dad taught me how to play golf. I was three years old, I was about this big. I ve got this far because he s been helping me the whole time. My favorite golfer locally is Charl Schwartzel because it s important to support a South African because you have to support your country. My lowest score in nine holes is . I hit my drive at over meters. If you want to get to this position, you have to practice at least three or four hours per day. You need to focus on your steps and not just hit the ball. Yeah! The five most important things in golf: Number one is you have to check the distance. If you don t check the distance, you ll take the wrong club selection. Number two, you have to check the wind. Checking the wind, so it s against us, so you have to take a longer club. Number three, you have to check your ball position because if you take a longer club, you have to put it in the front foot, if it s a shorter club, put it in the back foot. Ha, ha, ha. Number four is you mustn t move your body. If you move your body, you won t hit the ball properly. Number five is you must not move your head. If you move your head, you will shank the ball to the right. Ha, ha, ha. And that s the five most important things in golf. Now you know!
