Wind whips across the lakes and buffets the log cabin while I continue raising the walls of the log sauna before a Polar Vortex settles over the area for the next few days. Hot soup made with fresh walleye/pickerel and coconut milk cooked on the wood-fired stove in the off grid kitchen thaws me out before settling in for a cold, windy night in the cabin.
