Held in one of London s most historical landmarks, The Cloisters in Westminster Abbey, the Cruise 2017 collection was Alessandro Michele’s ode to British culture and aesthetics. Rich in detail, embroidery and color the collection featured flowers from English gardens on a diaphanous silk chiffon dress and on top handle bags; King Charles Spaniels on skirts and plush coats, and the Union Jack in knits and loafers. “I love the English aesthetic; I feel it is close to my own language. The collection is like a little poem to London. I have tried to put into it some of the pieces in my heart when I think about London: Victorian, schoolboy, crazy young noble guys and some romantic punk,” Alessandro Michele. Music Credits: “Scarborough Fair“ sung by Schola Cantorum, the Liturgical Choir of The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, London.
