How to Style a Coffee Table

Styling your coffee table is all about making a large horizontal space feel finished and functional. It s one of our favorite things to do as we stage home and decorate our own. It shows off personality and is fun to mix up every once in a while! Start by setting the foundation with the largest items – this is usually coffee table books and trays. Trays are great for corralling items you need to close-by like remotes. Add a natural element like a plant or fresh flowers. This also helps with creating different levels. We like to use vases for height and things like boxes for the lower levels. Add in your objects by groupings of 2-3 items on books and in trays - incorporate things that add an interesting shape or texture. Beads, sculptural pieces, candles, coasters, small boxes. Once you have your groupings, you can shift them around until it s perfect.
