Back in August 2019, I was still on my 2019 summer tour traveling through Indiana and Ohio for three food challenges. For challenge #1, I traveled to Taphouse on the Edge in South Bend, Indiana ("on the edge" of Notre Dame University). I helped kick-off their two new food challenges, with one being the delicious "Randy Santel" Monster Patty Melt Burger Challenge which was a supersized version of their base Monster Melt Patty Burger Challenge. My challenge consisted of four 1/2 lb beef patties stacked between 5 grilled cheese sandwiches, with a huge pile of cheesy bacon loaded tater tots served in the middle. BIG thanks to Taphouse On The Edge s ownership and staff for the wonderful food and hospitality, and to all the many people who came up to watch and meet me that August evening.
