Efren Reyes had some incredible shots in his career, but no shot would be quite as tense and unbelievable as the 1995 Z-Shot. Undoubtedly the most famous of professional pool shots, when Efren stepped to the table there wasn t a single person who genuinely thought he was going to make the ball. Sure enough, the Magician produced an incredible trick and dropped the 5 into the corner. 23 years later, Your Average Pool Player Rollie Williams attempts to recreate the Z shot while documenting his progress. The going was slow, but eventually it became clear that there were 3 major variables to optimize for: Spin, Speed, and Rail Contact Point. It s one of the most difficult shots to hit.
