Ineos Grenadier : 4X4 OFF-ROAD Review - Defender Re-Born? | Catchpole on Carfection

Henry Catchpole takes the Ineos Grenadier Off-road to test if it just as good on the dirt as the car it so closely resembles. In recent years, the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes G-Wagon have slightly shifted their focus to double up as status symbols, which has left a gap in the market for a solely utility focused off-roader. The Ineos Grenadier is an homage to the those cars but in more than just appearance. It is built using a body-on-frame construction and has three locking differentials which suggests that it will be a very capable off-roading/overlanding vehicle. Ineos propose this as work-first vehicle that is all business. But will it fill the gap left behind by the Defender and Mercedes G-Wagon of old? The Grenadier is powered by BMWs ubiquitous and reliable B58 and B57 engines (petrol and diesel respectively) mated to a ZF 8-speed torque converter automatic.
