Ice calving, or glacier calving, is when chunks of ice from the edge of an iceberg fall off into the oceans. But some of these chunks of ice can fall from as far as 200 feet high creating massive and hazardous waves. And with climate change becoming more and more apparent, these calvings are occurring at a much faster and much more alarming rate. But despite the inherent dangers of getting too close to one of these events, witnessing an ice calving is a very popular tourist attraction in places like Alaska. So join us for today’s video, where we take a look at 15 of the biggest glacier collapses and calvings! #glacier #top15 Several segments are licensed under creative commons https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/legalcode For more video information, please visit our website.
