Mama s Alaskan BBQ Challenge w/ Ribs, Brisket, and Fried Chicken!!

A&Z #842 - Randy Santel and @KatinaEatsKilos each versus Mama s "Leftovers For Dinner" 7lb Alaskan BBQ Challenge at Mama s Wilderness BBQ and Rub in Sterling, Alaska w/ BBQ ribs, a beef brisket sandwich, southern fried chicken, and a lot more!! Back in June 2020, I got invited to come up to Alaska and attempt an undefeated team pizza challenge at Riverside Pizza in Nenana, Alaska. I decided to make a big trip out of it and thankfully, my friend Katina Eats Kilos agreed to go in the trip with me to collaborate and be my teammate for the 2 team food challenges I wanted to do. Katina is from Spokane, Washington and has been attempting food challenges for well over 1 year now. We attempted 5 Alaskan food challenges together during our 10 day trip. For challenge #1, we traveled down to Sterling, Alaska which is located south of Anchorage, AK on the Kenai Peninsula. We went to Mama s Wilderness BBQ and Rub which was so awesome because it s the first ever 100% women-owned barbecue restaurant that I ve ever (knowingly) encountered. Katina and I attempted and help kick off their brand new "Leftovers For Dinner" Mama s Alaskan BBQ Challenge which featured a giant tray loaded with many of Mama s most delicious items that they serve out of a 1965 vintage Airstream. There was a 1 hour time limit and Katina and I were each trying to get our $150 meals free plus sweet t-shirts and spots on Mama s Wall of Fame!! BIG thanks to our friend Tina and everyone with Mama s Wilderness BBQ and Rub for the amazing food and hospitality while we were there in Sterling.
