Gucci #24HourAce | Adam Csoka Keller
Born in 1991 in Bratislava, Slovakia just 2 years after the Velvet Revolution ended decades of communism, Adam Csoka Keller’s work draws on Cold War architecture and fuses it with fashion, movement, and set design. Faceless human figures are organized into formations evocative of military marches or chorus lines. Is it group exercise, ritualistic performance, or brainwashed trance? A seductive colorist and materialist, Keller uses fashion and props like a paintbrush to contrast the concrete walls and fluorescent lit lobbies where he films. The Gucci Ace sneaker makes its entrance inside a drained swimming pool worn by listless adolescents who walk along the pool lanes, run across tiled surfaces, and play alongside slithering reptiles. The peripatetic wanderings give way to a locker room rave, breathing new life into the pool party and proving that concrete and techno are a match made in heaven.
