The Making Of: The Botanica Butterfly Gown | Zimmermann Spring 2021

The Botanica Butterfly Gown was featured in Look 36 of our Spring 2021 collection presentation, styled with the Wide Leather Belt in Ivory and Ruffle Patchwork Bootie in Ivory. A lightweight, feminine gown with diamond keyhole cut outs, exaggerated blouson sleeves and hand stitched embroidered 3D butterfly trims at the collar, bodice and sleeves. The crinoline hem and nature of silk linen organza gives the gown buoyancy as it moves down the runway. The fabric artwork is based on ‘Millettia Pinnata’ by Ellis Rowan from ‘The Flower Hunter’ by Patricia Fullerton, National Library of Australia.
