You will use a "gallop" when you utilize the lift and land footwork pattern on a forehand approach shot. This is an advanced tennis tip because it s often challenging to find the rhythm required to execute a proper "gallop." Many tennis players are taught to stop or slow down while they re hitting an approach shot, but if you watch the top professional tennis players, you ll notice them use these types of advanced tennis tips. The key is to learn to "gallop" before you actually lift off the ground when you make contact on this approach shot. Once you decide to hit a forehand approach shot, you ll step with your front foot and then shuffle or "gallop" up to the ball before putting your front foot down again.
