He also has his racquet face closed and finally squares it up when making contact with the ball. Jeff recommends moving around the ball while keeping your hips more open and slightly facing the net. Step 2: Use The Ground For More Power Dominic effectively uses the ground to create massive power on his tennis forehand. He kicks off his back foot in the air for balance and lands on his front foot after hitting the ball. Thus, Jeff encourages you to work on your upper and lower body strength and dynamic balance to push off the ground and consistently hit powerful forehands. Step 3: Turn Your Hand Thiem has an amazing hand turn right at contact, which enables him to get the strings facing the net after hitting the ball. Jeff would suggest Dominic to use a buggy whip finish on those inside out forehands where the ball is low. Step 4: Catch The Racquet On The Finish Dominic finishes with his hand above the shoulder and catches the racquet on the throat in his tennis forehand. This is a fundamental concept that Jeff teaches to his players from all levels. Hence, he advises you to work on your finish technique.
