For their Spring 2014 collection for their label, Creatures of the Wind, designers Shane Gabier and Chris Peters looked to Greek mythology, particularly at Hyperborea, a paradise where the sun shines 24 hours a day and everyone lives forever. Photos that American outsider artist Eugene von Bruenchenhein took of his wife, Marie, that evoked pinup girls of the 1950s also played a role in their inspiration. Meanwhile, backstage at Creatures of the Wind, hairstylist Odile Gilbert crafts a surfer version of a classic Katherine Hepburn-esque hair style, while makeup artist James Boehmer uses NARS cosmetics to put a modern spin on a classic beauty look from the 1940s and 1950s.
