What do you do with 2,000 pounds of produce that s perfectly edible but a little blemished? You could throw it out, contributing to the massive food waste problem, which results in roughly a third of the world s food supply going to waste. Or you could collect it, chop it up, and cook it into a meal for more than 5,000 people. That s what volunteers in Washington, D.C., did as part of the Feeding the 5000 campaign, which has held similar events around the world to draw attention to food waste. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world s premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure.
