Fall Brook Trout Fishing! (no talking)
The fall is my favourite season to tackle brookies. By the end of September they are well into their aggressive spawning mode. With sufficient rain, males and females migrate to gravel bottoms and upwelling springs. The males will fiercely guard their grounds from intrusion, be it from worm, lure, or fellow fish. This makes them easy to take. The larger females will be gorging on food to put in the last effort into their eggs. Brook trout also put much effort into their colouring with their normal hues popping not unlike the fall foliage. Take advantage of this once a year opportunity!
