Joy Crookes is an over-thinker. “What makes me happiest is not thinking, just being,” she smiles. “And it’s really hard to be in that state all the time.” Crookes has, admittedly, quite a lot to think about. The Brit Award-nominated and Mercury Prize-shortlisted singer and songwriter is a London born-and-raised star on the ascent.
