On February 10, the Opening Ceremony of the Berlinale 2022 took place at the Berlinale Palast in Berlin. The opening was attended by the Minister of State for Culture, Claudia Roth, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Franziska Giffey, as well as the artistic director of the Berlinale, Carlo Chatrian and the managing director of the Berlin International Film Festival, Mariette Rissenbeek. Hadnet Tesfai, Sibel Kekilli, Meret Becker and Marie Bäumer were the moderators for the evening.
