This is an closed-cell yoga mat that s supposed to be "travel size" - but it s actually pretty heavy. I loved the texture of this mat, but sadly it did NOT hold up to my sweat test very well. My hands started slipping as soon as the mat got even a little bit wet. If you re doing Iyengar or Hatha yoga this mat is lovely. But I don t think it s safe for hot yoga. 💜7 Day Chakra Challenge: https://www.brettlarkin.com/chakra ♥ BEGINNER YOGA CLASSES: http://bit.ly/BegYoga ♥ ADVANCED YOGA CLASSES: http://bit.ly/AdvYoga ♥ GETTING MARRIED?http://brettlarkin.com/engaged-yoga-wedding/ ♥ DOWNLOAD CLASSES: http://www.brettlarkin.com/yoga-video-downloads/ ??Questions?? Welcome to yoga mat week where today I am reviewing the Manduka Pro Lite mat which retails for $80. Tomorrow we will talk about this mat’s big brother, the pro mat with no lite in an upcoming video. The size of this mat feels just right from the thickness and how long and wide it is. It is 4.7milimeter thick and it is an inch longer than normal yoga mats. This mat is marketed as travel friendly and it is thin but sturdy. It has a fabric like texture which is Manduka proprietary closed cell technology. This special closed cell construction supposedly prevents bacteria, slipping and moisture. This mat weighs four pounds making it not heavy but not light either especially for something marketed as travel size. Let’s put it to the sweat test. So far sounds good but big problem arose when I put this mat to the sweat test. With the Manduka Pro Lite, I slipped and slid as soon as I got the mat wet. I did not feel like I could safely maintain a downward dog. Pros of this mat are its nice long length that comes with a lifetime guarantee just like all Manduka mats. It is somewhat lightweight and it is sticky once broken in. Cons are that it is pricey at $80 and it does not stay sticky when wet. The Manduka Pro Lite is my pick for alignment focused yogis who like iyengar and hatha and want to travel. Make sure to like this video if you enjoyed it, subscribe to my channel and keep hanging out with me all week for yoga mat week where at the end I am going to review my favorite mat of all the one I have tested out, and hopefully help you meet your mat soul mate too from my heart to yours. Namaste.
